Each year in April, Fort Hood hosts an Earth Day event to bring awareness that environmental stewardship is important at all levels from the Family members, Soldiers, civilians, and leaders of the installation's many divisions and Directorates. The 2010 and 2011 Earth Fest event reached out to more than 30,000 people and 2,600 students! More than 35 different exhibits educated students and the Fort Hood community about recycling, renewable energy resources, endangered species, natural resources, water conservation, and other environmental topics.
