Under Secretary of the Army, Dr. Joseph W. Westphal, presents the Pace Award to the Auditor General of the Army, Randall Exley on behalf of Denise K. Fultz (pictured on the poster) for her improvements to Reserve Force readiness while helping the Army strengthen its financial management of resources, April 3, 2012 at the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Working as an Auditor at the U.S. Army Audit Agency, Ms. Fultz's comprehensive analyses regarding the retention of long-term nonparticipants in the U.S. Army Reserve who missed at least nine drill training assemblies, identified unnecessary costs associated with their retention and how their inability to support contingency operations negatively affects the Force. More significantly, her research helped the Army avoid more than $150 million in unnecessary life insurance and health care premiums for these personnel. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt.
