FORT SAM HOUSTON, Texas " Fort Sam Houston honor guard members fold the flag that covered the casket of retired Gen. Ralph Haines Jr. at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery Dec. 3. The flag was then presented to retired Lt. Gen. Guy Swan III, the former commanding general of U.S. Army North and Fort Sam Houston, who presented the flag to William Haines, Gen. Haines' son. Soldiers from Fort Sam Houston and Fort Hood joined with community members to pay their respects for Haines, who was 98 years old at the time of his death and was the oldest living 4-star general and senior retired officer.
