A first responder uses a computer terminal to drag an active shooter out of the way while interacting with events and developments during the annual U.S. Army Garrison Grafenwoehr's force protection exercise which took place for the first time in its history in a virtual world. The all-day event held Dec. 2, 2011 at the Joint Multinational Training Command's Simulation Center took place in a digital replica of the USAG Grafenwoehr Main post. The exercise is implemented once a year to test the reactions and responses of first-responders, as well as the local garrison command structure. (U.S. Army Photo by Michael Beaton)
