Army Reserve Center Memorialized

The Sgt. Michael Paranzino Army Reserve Center was memorialized Nov. 5, 2011 in honor of Paranzino, who was killed in action in Afghanistan, Nov. 5, 2010. Participating in the ribbon-cutting ceremony are (from left to right) Navy Capt. Joe Voboril, commanding officer, Naval Station Newport; Dan Paranzino, Paranzino's brother, Paranzino's father and mother, Butch and Melane Paranzino, Maj. Gen. William D.R. Waff, Commanding General, 99th Regional Support Command, and U.S. Sens. Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse, at Naval Station Newport, R.I. Out of more than 400 buildings on the naval base, the Paranzino Army Reserve Center is the only building that is named after a fallen Soldier.
