Head bowed as he reflects on his life, retired Maj. John McCormick recalls his life in the Army during an interview in the Phantom Warrior Studio in the III Corps headquarters, Fort Hood, Texas, April 7. The 72-year-old retired teacher from Corpus Christi came out of two combat tours as a hero. He came out of deep depression and suicidal ideations as an alcoholic. He came out of a substance abuse treatment center sober. He came to Fort Hood to share his story with Soldiers.
