A SIPRNet/NIPRNet Access Point, or SNAP, terminal is shown in the mountains of White Sands Missile Range, N.M., during the Army's first Network Integration Exercise, or NIE, in June. SNAP terminals, a component of the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical, known as WIN-T, are designed to provide beyond line-of-sight voice, video and data communications to small units at forward operating bases, providing network capability down to the team, platoon and company level.
