Sgt. Andrew M. Gamble, 4th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, based at Camp Hovey, South Korea, holds up the cobra he caught during survival training April 6, at Fort Magsaysay, Philippines. Learning to catch a cobra for food was one task U.S. Marines and Soldiers learned during the training. The Filipino and American servicemembers also learned other survival skills, including where to find safe drinking water and how to identify plants useful to survival in the jungle, as part of Balikatan 2011. Balikatan, which means "shoulder-to-shoulder" in Tagalog, is an annual joint exercise between the armed forces of the U.S. and the Republic of the Philippines.
