Defensive End Brandon Thompson is the first West Point football player in more than 100 years of Army-Navy game history to wear the patch of a National Guard unit on his jersey. He wears the Thunderbird patch of the 45th Infantry Brigade, Oklahoma Army National Guard. His father, Lt. Col. Michael Thompson and brother Spc. Jared Thompson of the 45th are preparing to deploy to Iraq in January and will be watching the game from Fort Bliss, Texas.
