JOINT SECURITY STATION INDIA, Iraq - Maj. Gen. Daniel Allyn, commanding general of 1st Cavalry Division, displays the streamer for a Valorous Unit Award presented to 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Advise and Assist Brigade, 1st Cav. Div., during an awards ceremony at Joint Security Station India, Feb. 23, 2011. The 2nd Bn., 7th Cav. Regt., "Ghost," troopers received the award for actions during the brigade's previous deployment to Mosul, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2006 to 2007. The Valorous Unit Award is the second highest unit decoration which may be bestowed upon a U.S. Army unit and is awarded for displaying extraordinary heroism in action against an armed enemy.
