Yama Sakura participants uplift souls

California Army National Guard Spc. Delilah Hill plays a hand game with a young child during her visit at a nearby Japanese orphanage. Hill, is from the 40th Infantry Division out of Los Angeles, Calif., participated in a cultural exchange opportunity during the Yama Sakura 59 training exercise held at Camp Kengun, Japan. This program organizes a variety of events designed to introduce Japanese culture to U.S. troops. The visit to the orphanage was a unique opportunity for U.S. service members to interact with the children of Japan during YS59. YS59 is an annual bilateral joint exercise that strengthens military operations, trust and friendship between members of the United States and the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force.
