FORT LEE, Va. - Ready for display! Anzio Annie, one of two German Krupp K5 heavy railway guns brought to the United States during World War II stands ready to teach Soldiers history. Annie, along with other Ordnance artifacts being displayed at Fort Lee, are available to teach Ordnance Soldiers their heritage, technical history, and good and bad examples of foreign and U.S. equipment, according to Christopher Semancik, director, U.S. Army Ordnance Museum, Abdereen, Md. Anzio Annie was on display at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. and was moved to Fort Lee as part of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure legislation.
