A Canadian soldier uses an interpreter to translate instructions to the Afghan National Army soldiers on how to properly search a home. Canadian soldiers of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment, along with Afghan National Army and Afghan National Police, took part in a dismounted patrol around the Panjwai'i District in Kandahar province Oct. 7. Ultimately, the priority for ISAF (International Security Assistance Forces) is to build up the ANA and ANP and hand over security to the Afghan security forces.
