An Afghan National Army soldier (left) looks through binoculars in the direction where an explosion was heard Oct. 7. Afghan National Army soldiers partner with Canadian Soldiers to secure an observation point outside Combat Outpost Nejat. Soldiers of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment, along with ANA and Afghan National Police, conduct partnered dismounted patrols and cordon and search missions on a regular basis around the Panjwai'i District in Kandahar province. Ultimately, the priority of ISAF (International Security Assistance Forces) is to build up the ANA, and ANP, and hand the security back to the Afghan people.
