Canadian soldiers talk to one another before elements of the Afghan National Army, Afghan National Police and Canadian soldiers conduct a cordon search mission on a compound. Canadian elements of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment, ANA and ANP conduct partnered dismounted patrols, and cordon and search missions on a regular basis around the Panjwai'i District in Kandahar province. Ultimately, the priority for ISAF (International Security Assistance Forces) is to build up the ANA, and ANP, and hand over security to the Afghan forces.
