Sgt. Patrick J. At the second checkpoint he had to work with the "locals" to attain the location of the next checkpoint. Mann and 11 other NCOs are competing for the title of Department of the Army Best Warrior. The 12 NCOs and an additional 12 Soldiers will spend this week at Fort Lee competing in events such as the board, weapons and warrior tasks. The winners will be announced at a ceremony Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, in Washington, D.C. Mann is currently assigned as a satellite communications network coordinator for the 53rd Signal Battalion, 1st Space Brigade, located at Landsthul, Germany. He hails from Rib Lake, Wis.
