The tooth fairy does not approve-- The “tooth fairy” makes a face of disgust after collecting the rotten tooth of a child during a skit at the Child, Youth and School Services (CYSS) building Sept. 22. Played by Lawrence Joel Troop Medical Clinic (LJTMC) registered dental hygienist Lorraine Lobos, the tooth fairy visited children at the CYSS prekindergarten (pre-k) class to tell them the importance of taking care of their teeth. Assisting Lobos was Spc. Myrna Marcucci, LJTMC dental assistant, who played a character who didn’t brush her teeth and ate lots of sugary treats, leading to rotten teeth under her pillow. After watching the skit, children helped Marcucci’s character learn ways to take better care of her teeth.
