The Distinctive Unit Insignia for the 35th Engineer Battalion was approved on April 18, 1952. The colors are scarlet and white for the Corps of Engineers. The arched bend in the center of the shield symbolizes the unit's participation in building the Alcan Highway. The four fleurs-de-lis represent the unit's service in the European Theater during World War II.
