Stephen Brown, 20, son of Col. Dennis Brown, deputy surgeon, Third Army/U.S. Army Central, and wife, Susan, hits a tennis ball Aug. 10 at the Fort McPherson tennis courts near Gammon Field. Brown says his ability to play tennis is amazing, considering he has Long QT Syndrome, a genetic heart condition, and in November 2009 suffered a heart attack which left him without a pulse for nearly 40 minutes. Despite the incident, Brown has continued his studies to be a doctor and says he tries to remain as active as possible. For the story and more photos, see pages 10 and 11.
