Seven M1A2 Abrams tanks christened the new rail spur on the Ordnance Campus at Fort Lee June 10. This was the first time the tracks have been used to move cargo by rail onto the post. The tanks started their trek from Fort Hood, Texas, and will be used to train Ordnance Soldiers how to repair and maintain the units. Future use of the rail spur will include transporting Soldiers between Forts Lee and A.P. Hill for training and moving cargo more efficiently and economically.
