This sign serves as signal to the single entry and exit to the Missile Defense Complex at Fort Greely, Alaska, a remote post about 100 miles southeast of Fairbanks. The Alaska Army National Guard's 49th Missile Defense Battalion serves there as the front line of U.S. missile defense.
