Riders begin lining up for the start of the opening ceremony of the 2010 Sea to Shining Sea Bike Ride May 21 near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. The ceremony included a wheel dipping in the Pacific Ocean. Clay Rankin, front left recumbent bike, is an advocate for the Army wounded warrior program. Rankin, who served in Desert Storm as an Army Military Police Officer, was wounded while deployed to Iraq in 2003. The multi-service bicycle ride is sponsored by World T.E.A.M. Sports-a non-profit group, whose purpose is to raise awareness of wounded warriors. The ride is scheduled to end July 24 in Virginia Beach, Va.
