Several educational signs at Camp Guernsey document the historic homesteads of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The creation of educational signs was part of an initiative to identify the descendants of homesteading families, collect oral histories and document the history of dry-land farming in the region. This particular sign outlines the history and development of dry-land farming, a pivotal innovation in farming in regions that do not receive much rain.
