The Army has partnered with industry to develop the latest infrared technology that allows the Army to "own the night." This infrared camera, on display Feb. 24 at the AUSA Institute of Land Warfare Winter Symposium and Exposition in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., detects the letters "ARL" that have been "written" in the back of a canvas directors chair, and displays them on a screen. The letters representing Army Research Laboratory were traced by a researcher's finger, and the camera detects the heat generated from the friction against the canvas.
