FORT CARSON, Colo. - Spc. Michael Mumby, canine handler, 148th Military Police Detachment, 759th MP Company, and his partner, a German Shepherd named Sgt. Chat who works as a patrol narcotics detection dog, kept pace with the Mountain Post Team during a four-mile installation run to honor veterans Nov. 5. U.S. Army tradition dictates that the dog is always one rank higher than the handler of a canine team.
