Many independent organizations are ready and willing to help support the troops. There are dozens of ways private individuals, organizations and corporate companies can show their support to the American Soldier, the military families, and the U.S. Army.


Below is a short list of websites that may help find the perfect avenue to support troops with gifts and donations.


Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command - To donate to the Army's Family and MWR program please contact the organizations policy team at 703-681-7453.

An official U.S. Department of Defense website that features articles, links, and details on support to the men and women of the armed forces and their families.

USACFSC website for Army families featuring links on getting involved.






American Red Cross - http://www.redcross.org/
Injured, away from home, and separated from their Army units, their needs are many. You can make a difference by donating items to the American Red Cross.


Army Emergency Relief - http://www.aerhq.org/
Non-profit organization providing emergency financial assistance to Army soldiers and family members.


Air Force Aid Society - http://www.afas.org/index.cfm
Relieves financial distress of Air Force members and their families.


Coast Guard Mutual Assistance - http://www.cgmahq.org/Contributions/Frame.htm
Provides financial assistance to all members of the Coast Guard "family."

Donate gift certificates through non-profit organizations for need-based distribution.

Fisher House Foundation donates "comfort homes," built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers, to enable family members to be close to a loved one during hospitalization

Administers funds that provide financial assistance to Navy and Marine Corps personnel and their families.

Donate phone cards to servicemembers so that they may keep in touch with loved ones at home.

Delivers needed items and personal prayers to deployed servicemembers overseas.

A nonprofit, congressionally chartered, private organization providing support to soldiers.

WRS is available to receive donations to assist family members of service members returning to Walter Reed Army Medical Center as patients and to provide for the needs of soldiers and family members medically evacuated to Walter Reed from world-wide deployments.

Donations for wounded or injured soldiers treated at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany; Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, TX; Womack Army Medical Center, Ft Bragg, NC.
