and dial 877-833-9900. You can also access Fidelity's on Line
Investment advice through NetBenefits at www.401k.com.
- Fidelity offers an IRA for retirees. You can rollover your

You can invest in the same funds as you invested in during your
employment with Army NAF, and you also have access to the hundreds of
other funds that Fidelity Investments has available for their clients.
Fidelity can also set up a monthly retirement check to be sent to you
from your 401k account, so that you only pay taxes on the money that
was paid out of your account during the year.
- It is possible to avoid the 10% tax penalty for withdrawing
your 401k funds before age 59 1/2. If you are interested in this
option, please ask a Fidelity Investment counselor about the
"substantially equal payments for a period of 5 years, or until age 59
1/2, whichever is longer" option.
- Once you reach age 70 1/2, you are required to take a
minimum
retirement distribution (MRD) annually from your 401(k) savings plan
account or individual retirement account (IRA). Fidelity Invesments can
offer you advice on the amount of your annual MRD IRS requirement, if
you are still a Fidelity Invesments customer. If you fail to take an
MRD from your 401k or IRA by age 70 1/2, the IRS can subject you to
a 50% penalty. To protect your funds from this tax penalty, Fidelity
will make the mandatory required distribution (MRD) to you after proper
notification.
- If you have questions regarding the MRD, contact
Fidelity, the IRS or your personal investment advisor.
- If your spouse dies before you, please make sure to send a
