Emergency Financial Support

Most awards cover such things as fuel assistance, home repairs, car repairs, and other situations deemed by the individual Boards of Directors as emergency need. www.veterans.vermont.gov

Vermont Military, Family and Community Network

The mission of the Vermont Military, Family and Community Network is to develop and maintain a multi-group network among communities, military, government and private sectors that creates awareness of challenges, identifies resources and provides support to all service members and their families throughout the deployment cycle.

Military Spouse Residency Relief Act

On November 11, 2009, the President signed into law the Military Spouse Residency Relief Act. This Act, among other things, provides that when a service member leaves his or her home State in accord with military or naval orders, the service member's spouse may retain residency in his or her home state for voting and tax purposes, after relocating from that State to accompany the service member. In the State of Vermont an exemption from Vermont withholding tax may be claimed if an employees spouse is a member of the U.S. Armed Services and their state of legal residence is not Vermont.
