At a general court-martial convened on Katterbach Kaserne in Ansbach, March 20-22, Sgt. Johnny Simmons Jr., 2-159 Attack Reconnaissance Battalion (R)(P), 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, was found guilty, contrary to his pleas of one charge and two specifications of violating Article 120, UCMJ, aggravated sexual assault and abusive sexual contact; and one charge and one specification of violating Article 134, UCMJ, adultery.

An enlisted panel sentenced Simmons to be reduced to the grade of private (E-1),to forfeit all pay and allowances, to be confined for a period of 42 months, and to be dishonorably discharged from the service.

At a special court-martial convened on Rose Barracks in Vilseck, March 11, Spc. Cory E. Pipal, C Troop, 1st Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, was found guilty, in accordance with his plea, of one charge and one specification of violating Article 120, UCMJ, indecent acts.

He was also found guilty, contrary to his plea, of one charge and one specification of violating Article 134, UCMJ, indecent language. A military judge sentenced Pipal to be reduced to the grade of private (E-1), to be confined for five months, and to be discharged from the service with a bad-conduct discharge.

At a general court-martial convened on Warner Barracks in Bamberg, March 6-7, 1st Lt. Idris T. Oladeinde, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 54th Engineer Battalion, 16th Sustainment Brigade, was found not guilty, in accordance with his pleas, of one charge and two specifications of violating Article 120, UCMJ, aggravated sexual assault and aggravated sexual contact.

At a special court-martial convened on Rose Barracks in Vilseck, March 1-2, Sgt. 1st Class Miguel A. Ortiz-Mercado, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment, 172nd Separate Infantry Brigade, was found guilty, in accordance with his pleas, of one charge and one specification of violating Article 92, UCMJ, violation of a lawful general regulation; one charge and one specification of violating Article 121, UCMJ, larceny of government property; and one charge and one specification of violating Article 134, UCMJ, obstruction of justice.

He was also found guilty, contrary to his plea, of one charge and one specification of Article 107, UCMJ, false official statement. A military judge sentenced Ortiz-Mercado to be reprimanded, to be reduced to the grade of E-6, to forfeit $400 pay per month for four months, and to be confined for four months.

At a general court-martial convened on Rose Barracks in Vilseck, Feb. 26-28, Sgt. George D. Brown, Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, Fires Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, was found guilty, contrary to his pleas, of one charge and one specification of violating Article 120, UCMJ, aggravated sexual assault.

He was found not guilty, in accordance with his pleas, of one charge and one specification of violating Article 128, UCMJ, assault consummated by a battery. An enlisted panel sentenced Brown to be reduced to the grade of private (E-1), to forfeit all pay and allowances, to be confined for a period of six months, and to be discharged from the service with a bad-conduct discharge.
