Lt. Gen. Daniel B. Allyn, commanding general, XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg, sat in a rocking chair and read the Dr. Suess book, "Thidwick, the Big-Hearted Moose" to 5th grade students at Bowley Elementary, School March 1. The school celebrated both Read Across America Day and the 109th birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. For a week, students and staff highlighted a Dr. Suess book with events to include eating green eggs and ham for breakfast, dressing up as Dr. Suess characters, a scavenger hunt, having guest readers read Dr. Suess books to students as well as an assembly parade.
