Army Space Delivers Saint Barbara Honor to Air Force Space Command Officer
Lt. Gen. Richard P. Formica, commanding general, U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command, presents Air Force Col. Anne M. Konnath, chief current operations division, Director Air, Space and Cyberspace Operations, U.S. Air Force Space Command, the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara during a ceremony at the command's Peterson Air Force Base headquarters Feb. 27.

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- During a recent visit to the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Force Strategic Command Operational Headquarters at Peterson Air Force Base, the command's senior officer participated in a special mission.

Lt. Gen. Richard P. Formica, SMDC's commanding general, presented the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara to Air Force Col. Anne M. Konnath, chief current operations division, Director Air, Space and Cyberspace Operations, U.S. Air Force Space Command, on Feb. 27.

Konnath, whose previous assignment was in Afghanistan in 2012, returned state-side before the traditional December ceremony in which honors are bestowed.

Maj. Gen. Richard C. Longo, commander of the Combined Joint Inter-Agency Task Force -- Afghanistan, asked Formica if he would consent in doing a belated presentation the next time he was at Peterson.

The Honorable Order of Saint Barbara is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated the highest of standards of integrity and moral character, displayed an outstanding degree of professional competence, served the artillery with selflessness, and contributed to the promotion of the artillery branch.

The presentation consisted of a certificate and silver medallion attached to a red ribbon.
