YONGSAN GARRISON, South Korea (Feb. 19, 2013) -- The Eighth Army commander thanked Soldiers, civilians and families from the South Korea-based 65th Medical Brigade during a visit to the Brian Allgood Army Community Hospital here, Feb. 14.

Eighth Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. John D. Johnson said the 65th Medical Brigade keeps Eighth Army ready by providing world-class care to its Soldiers, civilians and families and their pets.

As the U.S. Army's top operational commander in Korea, Johnson routinely travels to his major subordinate commands across the Korean Peninsula.

The 65th Medical Brigade provides medical, dental and veterinary care for American Soldiers, civilians and families in South Korea.

The brigade also coordinates medical support at the operational and tactical levels during the early stages of conflict.
