Members of Cadet Command's Public Affairs Office were recognized this week by the Training and Doctrine Command in the annual Keith L. Ware Awards. The contest recognizes print, broadcast and community relations achievements during calender year 2012.

First place recipients advance to compete later this month in the Department of the Army competition.

The winners were:

FIRST PLACE
-- Steve Arel, personality feature article titled Turner wraps up tenure as command's top enlisted leader
-- Arel, photograph for image from 2012 All-American Bowl
-- Arel, Moss-Holland Civilian Print Journalist of the Year

SECOND PLACE
-- Arel, news feature article titled ROTC grad makes inspirational return to Eastern Kentucky University.
-- Arel, sports article about the Army Ten-Miler
-- Lt. Col. Matt Hackathorn and Rachael Tolliver, story series for articles offering tips on teaching techniques and best social media practices

THIRD PLACE
-- The Cadet, magazine format publication
-- Arel, photojournalism for package on the national JROTC National Raider Championships
-- Arel, picture page for layout of spring commissionings
