VILSECK, Germany -- The Vilseck Falcons JROTC Precision Rifle Team, including (back row) Alexis Finster, Malia Carson, Meraleigh Randle, (second row) Christy Chaning, Allie Marie Luginbuhl, and (lying down) Carolyn Pippin, placed first in Eastern Conference and European competitions last month (teammate Shelby Gronhoff is not pictured).

The teams top five -- Finster, Carson, Chaning, Gronhoff and Randle -- recently qualified to compete in Anniston, Ala., for the annual Junior ROTC Air Rifle National Championships, where 7,300 cadets representing 1,800 teams from all over the world were jostling for 125 individual and 25 team positions. The top five young ladies will also be qualifying for the Junior Olympics while at the championships.

The Lady Falcons placed sixth overall in the world and each is individually ranked 76 or higher.

These Lady Falcons have been teammates for two years and this was the first year they took home both trophies (Eastern Conference and European) in Vilseck High School's 23-year history.
