Aviator Milestone
Brig. Gen. Timothy J. Edens (right), director of Army Safety and commanding general, U.S. Army Combat Readiness/Safety Center, recently presented retired CW4 Harold Coghlan, now a Department of the Army Civilian instructor pilot with B Co., 1-212th Aviation Regiment, Fort Rucker, Ala., with a certificate of achievement recognizing Coghlan's passing of 20,000 flight hours in military aircraft. Among other highlights from his 36-year career, Coghlan is one of just a handful of Army aviators to have flown faster than Mach 2 as a fighter jet pilot, and he has experience in nearly 30 different rotary and fixed-wing airframes. Coghlan is currently an IP in the 1-212th's Helicopter School Battalion. Courtsey photo
