Many disabled veterans in the Beaver Lake area have not had the opportunity to deer hunt. For one hunter, John Wyrick of Rogers, it was the first deer he had ever harvested and he had the experience of a lifetime, Chief Ranger Jared Trammell said.

The events growing success is due in part to the volunteers willing to provide their valuable resources. Management tags were provided by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and volunteers prepared food, cleaned game, supplied the hunters with gear and accompanied them during the hunt.
Volunteers include: Cabela's Outfitters, Ivan's Old Time Meat Shop, Lapaloma Hunting Ranch, Southtown Sporting Goods, Outdoor Cap Company, Arkansas State Park-Hobbs Conservation Area, and Arkansas Forestry Commission.

Supporters and volunteers with a passion for hunting helped make this year's event possible. Without the dedication and generosity of the volunteers and supporters, experiences like this would not be possible. To volunteer for the 2013 hunt contact Jared Trammell at 479-636-1210 ext. 1708.
