EL PASO, Texas --Sgt. Maj. Riley Woodworth, 1st Battalion, 360th Infantry Regiment sergeant major, was guest speaker at the recent Collins Elementary School annual Veterans Day ceremony here.

The Warhawg Battalion has a long-standing relationship with the school as their Fort Bliss sponsor for the Partners in Education program.

The ceremony commenced with Collins Elementary principal, Leticia Ewing, welcoming the attending veterans, who included parents, grandparents, Collins Elementary staff members and Task Force Warhawg attendees.

"Be proud of who you are; do not let anyone take that away," Woodworth said. "Have pride in your school and community. These are the keys to being good citizens of the community and the nation."

At the conclusion of Woodworth's speech, the veteran attendees were presented with certificates of appreciation by Ewing and Larry Olsen, Collins Elementary School counselor. The ceremony closed with the students reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an American."
