Sergeants Major students celebrate Asian Pacific heritage
FORT BLISS, Texas (May 9, 2008) -- New Zealand Army Warrant Officer Shane Vooght (center right) leads several other Sergeants Major Course Class 58 international students in his native Warrior Challenge during the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy annual Asian Pacific Heritage Month celebration May 9. Included in the challenge are (from left) Philippine Army Master Sgt. Edgar A. Cabasog, Afghanistan Army Command Sgt. Maj. Ziaulhaq Amanzai, Vooght and Khazakstan Army Master Sgt. Temirbek Khalykov. More than 600 faculty, staff and students watched the early morning event which included Polynesian dancing performed by Island Connection and an emotion-filled historical recount by Command Sgt. Maj. Iuniasolua T. Savusa, command sergeant major of U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army.
