USAREUR CSM joins USASMA in Asian Pacific Heritage celebration
FORT BLISS, Texas (May 9, 2008) -- Command Sgt. Maj. Iuniasolua Savusa, the U.S. Army Europe command sergeant major and a native of American Samoa, joins a local Polynesian dance troupe in performing a traditional Samoan dance during an Asian Pacific Heritage Month observance in the Cooper Lecture Hall at the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy May 9. Savusa talked at length about some of the many contributions and sacrifices Pacific Islanders and American Asians have made during the last century and a half, concluding with an emotional tribute to the sacrifices of five of his relatives. More than 600 faculty, staff and Sergeants Major Course Class 58 students joined in the celebration. The students are preparing to graduate May 22. (Photo by Army Spc.
