Vicksburg, Miss…….The construction of the Mississippi River, Magna Vista-Brunswick levee enlargement project requires the removal of the asphalt surface on Mississippi Hwy 465 which is located on the crest of the levee. Once the enlargement is completed, crush stone surfacing will replace the removed pavement.

The construction is located in Issaquena County, Mississippi, southwest of Onward and is being performed by Kenneth R. Thompson, Jr, Builder, Inc. of Greenwood, Mississippi.

Removal of the highway surface will begin this week and start near the Goose Lake Road ramp. Detour signs are in place to route traffic around the affected areas. Local residents will continue to have access routes to their property.

Completion of entire levee enlargement work impacting the highway is expected to take up to one year.
