Bridge Crossing Whites Lake on Fort A.P. Hill

Senior military leaders along with senior state government officials observe bridging operations July 24 at Fort A. P. Hill. Marla Graff Decker, Virginia Secretary of Public Safety, Martin Kent, Chief of Staff for Governor McDonnell, Matt Conrad, Deputy Chief of Staff for Governor McDonnell, Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Long, Jr. the Adjutant General of Virginia and Command Sgt. Maj. Dennis Green, Senior Enlisted Leader for the Virginia National Guard, watch as Soldiers from the Bowling Green-based 189th Multirole Bridge Company completed assembly of an approximately 120 meter long bridge consisting of 13 interior bays and two ramp bays.

After the bridge was complete, Soldiers from the Pennsylvania Guard's Company D, 112th Infantry (Anti-tank) and Company B, 1st Battalion, 111th Infantry, 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 28th Infantry Division conducted an assault across the bridge.
