Security specialist recognized by Army research, development center

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. -- A security specialist was named employee of the year by the U.S. Army's Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center, here, June 19.

William Whitford was recognized in the administrative team category for his support to CERDEC's Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate Base Realignment and Closure Team. The BRAC Team facilitated the relocation of the directorate from Fort Monmouth, N.J. to Aberdeen Proving Ground.

The team was instrumental in the design of CERDEC labs and spearheaded the effort to get the labs functioning in a timely manner. Whitford worked to ensure the security of the new labs.
