WASHINGTON (June 15, 2012) - - The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" presented several events this week in celebration of the Army's 237th Birthday. Cake cutting ceremonies took place at the Pentagon, as well as in New York City's Times Square. The U.S. Army Concert Band presented a free concert on the steps of the U.S. Capitol for an appreciative audience of visiting tourists and DC locals. Unseasonably cool temperatures and a clear sky drew over 250 people to the performance, part of the Army Band's regular Sunsets with a Soundtrack Concert Series.
