PUEBLO CHEMICAL DEPOT, Colo. - At approximately 8:54 a.m. this morning, emergency responders were sent to the Change House Building inside of the chemical limited area due to a report of smoke inside the building.

Three depot employees were observed for smoke inhalation by the Depot Physician then released back to duty.

There were no chemical operations in progress at the time of the response. At no time was there a threat to the off post community, the environment or the chemical munitions stockpile.

The smoke originated from the Protective Clothing Immersion Tank where butyl rubber protective gloves are laundered. County and state officials have been notified of the event.

Depot safety and fire officials are investigating the cause.
