PRESIDIO OF MONTEREY, Calif. - Presidio community members learned ways to conserve and protect the Earth's natural resources during an informative and interactive booth-style fair here at the Berlin Wall Courtyard April 24.

POM Directorate of Public Works arranged the event and marked it the first informational fair hosted here.

The event, which was held during most of the Presidio community's lunch period, had various stations, such as an opportunity to win free tickets to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, a look at how trash is perceived by sea life and tree plantings.

Simultaneously, a weed-pulling of the invasive French Broom was conducted here.

The first Earth Day was April 22, 1970 that is celebrated by over 175 countries a year.
