FORT LEE, Va. -- Brig. Gen. Stephen E. Farmen, the Army's Chief of Transportation and Transportation School commandant, speaks with Reserve Officer Training Course cadets during a recent senior class visit to the area as part of an educational program.

Before heading to the Petersburg National Battlefield for class history presentations, almost 30 Liberty University and University of Virginia ROTC cadets toured the U.S. Army Women's Museum and the U.S. Army Quartermaster Museum.

While at the QM Museum, the students had the opportunity to ask Farmen questions about the military. He shared with them some of his personal experiences and thoughts on character, combat readiness and honor. He also presented each with a card describing his 12 principles of excellence, which highlight the importance of discipline, training, leadership, and mission support.
