Earth Day at Camp Ripley

By Sgt. John AngeloApril 24, 2012

Earth day activities this year included the release of an injured a Northern Saw Whet owl. The owl had an injured wing, nursed back to health and released today at the tree nursery. The nursery is used to get trees started for transplanting downrange. The soldiers are splitting and chopping wood that is reclaimed from felled trees from inside the range area. The wood is donated to the families of deployed soldiers to offset heating costs.
