Recently, the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. (APG) hosted an exploratory discussion visit with representatives from the Direction Générale de l'Armement (DGA), French Ministry of Defense, headed by Brig. Gen. Dominique Luzeaux, director for Land Systems Acquisition.

The French delegation provided an overview of the DGA Land Systems, mission, responsibilities and current international activities with the U.S. and other international partners.

ARL Chief Scientist Dr. Stephen Lee hosted the delegation on behalf of the ARL director, and provided an ARL overview and tour of the Weapons and Materials Research Directorate and Vehicle Technology Directorate laboratory facilities at APG.

According to Lee, "International exchanges such as this are critical for ARL as a world-class laboratory. The ARL International Enterprise strives to grow the international collaborations and exchanges that will help achieve the ARL mission, and this exchange with the French DGA is one example of many supporting the Globalization of Army Research."

At the end of the visit, Brig. Gen. Luzeaux expressed his appreciation and recognition of ARL as a leading defense research facility and his support for future cooperation between ARL and DGA.
