HEIDELBERG, Germany (March 9, 2012) -- Sgt. Maj. of the Army Raymond F. Chandler and his wife Jeanna began their U.S. Army Europe visit here, March 5.

Command Sgt. Maj. David Davenport, U.S. Army Europe's senior enlisted advisor, accompanied the Chandlers as they met with Soldiers, families, senior enlisted advisors and leaders to discuss key issues.

"The number one thing that Soldiers have to really take to heart is that they are professionals," Chandler said. "Focusing on sexual assault and sexual harassment, reducing and eliminating those crimes against other Soldiers in our Army. Those are all priorities for me, basic Soldier discipline and standards."

The Chandlers also visited Heidelberg Clinic's Wellness Center and Warrior Transition Unit-Europe.

The intent of the visit is to reiterate his priorities in the Army, such as the adhering to the Army Values, the Profession of Arms campaign and force drawdown. The Chandlers will close their trip by visiting units in Grafenwöhr, Hohenfels and Wiesbaden.
