SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Brig. Gen. David Puster, commanding general of the 302d Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, delivered keynote remarks during the Western Massachusetts Advisory Council meeting at the Springfield Recruiting Company, Feb. 22, 2012.

Puster, whose unit is from Chicopee, addressed an audience that included regional and civic leaders, and veterans.

"These events encourage positive relationships between the Army and civilian leaders and help gain civilian support for our ongoing operations in the Army Reserve," said the native of North Carolina.

"We see a lot of support for the military at these events ... and can inform the local leaders on Army programs supporting our Soldiers - after all, our Soldiers are their sons and daughters that they have entrusted to us," he added.

The event was hosted by Agawam Mayor Richard Cohen.
